for what it's worth, I did some more digging (and various putzing with odds and ends). The released demo can *usually* work under XP/98/95 with only it's inherent bugs. However, the newer Nvidia drivers (apparently primarily the 200 series and newer) have less support for older games and processes b...

so this thread prompted me to hunt down the scenario and play it, pretty fun. I like the early rush to keep your foothold on Terra (which you loose, mostly). Your main opposition becomes the symbiot since the house AI tends to die off fairly quick. I'd totally forgotten about it, though I vaguely re...

Yup, it running in compatibility, though that didn't seem to actually make any difference. The settings I had to monkey with were predominately graphics card related. My desk top PC doesn't have an on-board graphics chip, or I'd have tried to run it on that. The game really has issues with my 295, a...

The need for resources adding a time crunch factor, effectively forcing early aggressive expansion or drastic reduction in house forces after a rapid consolidation on your home planet is a good thing. And the beefed up rebels make it that much more challenging. I'm not sure that adding a farm is nee...

Initially started out as hazat. Given the amount of starting units I actually made the mistake of weeding my forces a bit, disbanding some of the excess infantry units in order to try and reduce food requirements. And... well, turns out I could have used those to soak up some of the rebels on my hom...

Noble armada demo
So, in keeping with digging out old Fading Suns games (and playing EFS into the ground lately). I reinstalled the demo/beta of the never released HDI noble armada game (real shame, that, could have been awesome). Anyway, after a lot of tweaking I managed to get it to run in XP on a laptop. But, in g...

Honestly, not sure off the top of my head how to maximize retreat vs destroyed enemy units. I think, and keep in mind I haven't gone back to double check it yet, that you can't directly control it (ie: it's not related to damage type or specific units). If I get time in the next few days I'll try to...

Just got back into playing, any chance this particular patch/mod from Eightball Maniac is around for download anywhere? After this much time, I'm having trouble tracking down the old mods I used to use, but this one sounds really interesting. If anyone's got it, please PM me or point me towards wher...
