Re: Generating planet terrain

Thanks mate. Just a drop in the ocean though, the interaction between tech branches is what is driving me mad now. The game doesn't seem to like the many, many cross-requirements needed to advance down the branches as opposed to the more traditional, quasi-independent branches + applied tech branch ...

Re: Generating planet terrain

I managed to find the solution, it's just not too obvious at first sight. Once editing the planet surface you just click File->New and you get to choose among Normal, City, Ice, Jungle or Barren. The planet will be auto-generated and will need editing but you can grab Megacity and Barren whereas gen...

Generating planet terrain

Hey all, wonder if anyone still lurks around here! I was toying with the editor once again and realized I can't generate a charred or megacity planet from scratch. Every new planet starts with the base "plains" palette and trying to generate random terrains only cycles among plains, jungle...

Re: EFSUNIT.BIN

Thanks for the prompt reply. It actually helps a lot to look at it this way and it's sure worth messing around with, though I still didn't delve too much into it. Large units and tech tree rework is taking most of the time right now, and I will temporarily do with the current icons until at least th...

EFSUNIT.BIN

I have recently started toying again with the editor, which I only started to use last year and only sporadically, but the EFS malady has to come back and strike from time to time I guess. Given my poor skills I was both impressed and galvanized at my successful attempt to edit the .flc files and we...

Re: Some interesting results after heavy tweaking

Oy! Been so long, checking in for no apparent reason and lo, there's fresh news on the line! This game still got a hold on us it seems. Good to read from you all once again and I hope everything's fine. Cheers and keep up with the modding! .)

Lockups

I couldn't help it. Feeling a desperate need to play EFS once again, I picked Hyperion patch and started replaying it. I experienced a lockup during al-Malik's turn, and it keeps locking up when I try and reload the same game. I have a previous save, about 10 turns earlier, which I may reload to try...

Sorry to hear that madrigal! That could've been a rare jewel, as I told Eightball once about his own project. He said he would wait for his interest to rise again but would probably be months. I still check in from time to time, his ideas were quite promising.

I know the feeling. Interests do rise and fall...all's well here, if we still can say that. Italy is collapsing.

Keep up! Your works are precious and rare. I'd say unique. I look forward to see new stuff to download...reading how the game unfolds in the various setups of yours makes me want to try it asap! And nice to see one more EFS lover around! Cheers, til next time.
