Yeah, the whole point of Hyperion was to be much more challenging than standard EFS. So you won't be moving out into the galaxy in the timeframe you're used to. You can take a look at the forum threads - Matt (the creator of Hyperion) wrote some excellent replies to people in your situation. The pro...

1. I don't know. 2. The AI doesn't need an input unit to build a unit which would require one for a human player. 3. As far as I know, the AI doesn't need resources to produce units. I don't know if there are any constraints at all on what the AI can produce. What I know for certain is that the AI c...

I really doubt it, Sukayo. I've been away from EFS for a number of years, but I had the urge to play it again. Hyperion had always been my favorite patch, so I thought I'd give the latest version a try. It's gone, horribly, horribly wrong, and is now really tedious to play, full of absurdities, and ...

Corinthian Galaxy Question

Matt,

Since part of the last update was the Corinthian galaxy, I want to bring up a question I've been meaning to ask: is it intentional that there are no resource markers of any kind on Kish? I think all the other House home worlds have gems, etc.

1.4 Impressions... 1/4 the way into turn 1

Its kinda presumptuous, but I want to relate what I think will prove a perfect example of what I was afraid of: DL'ed the mod, and fired it up. Since I usually play the Corinthian Beta, I was looking forward to playing straight Corinthian again as my favorite house, Li Halan (Cybercorps! :D ) There'...

Re: Upcoming Changes in Hyperion V1.4

Sounds cool Matt. I'm glad to see you're still working on Hyperion. I've been puttering about a bit with Hyperion lately, and I thought I'd throw out a few random thoughts: Most of the changes you've made will require me to play the patch before commenting, but I like the idea of basic spacecraft be...

Re: How do you Research forbidden stuff without church attac

You can place units or other cities around your labs - the Inquisition will be unwilling to attack the other units or cities in order to get to the lab. There is a house rule forbidding this in multiplayer games, but nothing preventing you from trying it solo, however cheesy ;)

Refresh my memory - which patch is Escape from earth from, and whose website is it on? I have been getting the urge to play EFS again, though I currently only have Hyperion installed...

Re: Any games going on?

The past couple games I've started have petered out for various reasons. One was based on the Feb 19 (?) Random galaxy for Hyperion, and that died due to a bug. The other was Corinthian Beta, also for Hyperion, which died when a couple of players discovered that they were not prepared for the diffic...

Re: Corinthian - House Rules - The Church (Newbie Questions)

Welcome to EFS John! Just a couple things to add to what Matt said: Don't worry too much about going to war with the League. They probably won't do much besides send a few League Bulk haulers around to bombard any of your units not under shields or within range of PTS weapons. Note that foot units i...

Re: Better part of valor?

True enough, but Dallan did state that he was using the Hyperionized original galaxy, in which the flagships are included. I think the Imperial Fleet flagship begins over Chernobog - I know its always destroyed by the time a player can gain control of it.

Re: Design Document / EFS wish list / Whatever else related

I wouldn't worry too much about whether a turn represents a year, a season, a month or whatever. EFS already asks us to suspend our disbelief in a number of large ways - consider that at the start of the game a House doesn't even have an accurate map of its home world - but is in possession of space...
