REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\HDI\Emperor of the Fading Suns\1.0]
"CDROM"="G:\\"
"Directory"="E:\\Games\\EFS"
"DirectXInstalled"=dword:00000000
-----------------------------------
Keep in mind you have to have the EFS program archive already extracted to a folder on your computer, you can find it if you look through these forums. The setup program off of the original CDRom will most likely NOT WORK under X64, Plus the patches are 16 bit programs. No workie under X64!
Anyways:
Copy and paste above the dashes, save to a file named EFS_Reg_x64.reg
Modify the above mentioned file to reflect the correct location of your CDRom and Install directory for EFS.
double click .reg file to add to registry, EFS should now run under x64 without the "incorrectly installed please run setup again" message.
Make sure you've added 95/98/XP compatibility to the EFS executable before running. Your results may vary!
Edit: blame the Tuaca!
Edit 2: I can't believe I'm posting in a forum about a 14 year old game... sigh.

I have another problem. Everything works perfectly, however, after a few hours of play, the game and the system freezes completely. Task Menager does not work, does not work alt + tab, alt + f4, there is no error message.
Only a hard reset works. I've used multiple compatibility modes. How do I solve this problem? I have Windows 7 64 bits, Proffesional Editionn.
