2013 - Reality and Emperor Wars Mod

Postby Vertab Nukks » Fri May 24, 2013 9:42 pm

I thought I would provide some background on the Reality and Emperor Wars Mod.

I loved playing EFS back in 1997, and really enjoyed the Nova patch.

In 2012, I rediscovered and first found that someone had created the Reality Mod, which included units from the Emperor of the Fading Suns Books printed by Holistic Design.

It included new units such as the Vorox, Brother Battle, Sanctuary Aeon, etc.

This got me to thinking wouldn't it be great to have a Historical Game map based on the Emperor of the Fading Suns Books "Survey of the Known Worlds"

EoFS Noble Fiefs: http://store.holistic-design.com/index. ... cPath=1_12

So, I went to work with the EFS Map Editor making the Historical Map that I also wanted, which includes all of the details and accurate landmarks for each Known World. After weeks and editing I finished Emperor Wars.

It is a combination of Reality and an accurate Historical Map of the Known Worlds.

You can download the combined files here: http://www.mediafire.com/?gz9mrujkbv488tc

If really makes the game much more fun, and I hope that you enjoy it.

This looks great. Do you just copy these to your hard drive and run the executable? I run EFS Nova on my PC and still get lots of the problems you mentioned. THis looks like a much better game.

Downloading Emperor Wars

DurochD,

Thank you for your comments.

The best way to install it is to go to the Emperor Wars download page and install all of the files listed individually in the the order that they are posted and that will create a clean copy for you.

We found this was the best way for a new user to set it up if they have a previous EFS Mod on their computer.

AI doesnt seem to build new cities... at all???

Postby wishcraft » Wed Sep 04, 2013 11:24 pm

I've been trying out this Reality Mod because the vanilla game indeed doesnt have that dark-age feel to it.
However, in the game I am playing, it seems like the other noble houses don't create any new cities at all. They just conquer rebel cities, it seems.
Is this what normally happens in a Reality mod game? Did I not install it properly?
So, what would be causing this? is it the AI considers the cost of engineers too high now? Or is it simply confused by the changes out of being able to consider engineers?
I wonder how people go about modding the AI, I mean, I like everything else about this mod except a few other things but if I could just fix this somehow at least the game would be playable. Without the other houses making cities at all it's even worse than how it is in vanilla.

Oh and I think it's kinda silly how little metal you have to spend to make artillery and so on. I thought the maker of the mod wanted to nerf artillery?? And now it's artillery spam all over again... just that now they go obsolete at higher tech levels maybe.

I went to the site downloaded the links in order and I can't seem to get the mods to work. I'm not very computer savvy so i'm not sure if it's something i've done wrong or if the mods won't work on windows 7. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
