Hey, all you developers. Do you know of any free, rudimentary version control software?
I'm finding that so many parameters are now changeable (build time, cost, whether or not building is forced) that I can't keep track. Not only do I fear that I'm going in circles, but it's hard to think outside the box when I can't see all my possibilities in front of me.

sourceforge.net provides both CVS and SVN for free.
Since you described your problem as being one of many things to keep track of, you may want software engineering tools instead, such as diagramming software, an IDE, etc.

IDE == Integrated Development Environment ...
Like Visual Studio suite, Delphi, etc ...
You can also consider Office as some kind of IDE

yes, I think MS Excel might be enough. As long as I don't spend mor time recording my changes than making and executing them . . .
