Oooh, the Vau Dreadnought is nice. And you're right -- lots of them are. :)

I'm going to update the list of needed FLC's very soon, I know Boris has added some more and I need to get those linked in correctly.

I'm going to be fixing this in the next few weeks...

I am the one that mentioned the name BOLO.

There is a Sci Fi book of short stories from the 70's called BOLO.

I forget what the acronym stands for but a BOLO is a huge tank with a self-aware AI based on nueral net technology. I has loyalty to its makers, is self aware, has centuries of combat strategy and tactics data, and can think for itself on the battle field. It can operate alone or in combat units.

The book talks about the origins and evolution over centuries. There is a significant growth in human expansion into the galaxy, wars, and a long, brutal war of attrition with a powerful enemy that eventually ruins both races economically. The resulting collapse isolates military assets on far flung worlds that were once strategic and the human communities that form over time find these amusing talking relics. Amusing that is until something triggers them into action. Then they are horrified to learn what they really are; Hi-Tech killing machines whose masters have left long ago.

Shocker:

I think somewhere buried in the comments for my UNIT.DAT file I think I credited you in there. You posted a long time ago about the "Ancient Bolo" and I thought it was a cool idea and so used it.

They are in the Relic slot, by the way and there is one or two around in one or more of the Hyperion Galaxies.

I've never even fought one, so I don't even know how a battle would fair against one, but it'll probably be similar to fighting an Alien Phage Device times two or three!

Cool

As you can tell from the post, I really liked the Bolo books and I think it would make an awesome relic.

Thanks,
- Shocker.

I have made FLC files out of the above pics, if anyone wants them.

I will be looking at some more Gerald Brom art to see if there are any others that can be used.

These are great!

They seem to have the EFS look, too.

Not sure if I'll use them exactly for the units specified, but I'm sure they'll fit somewhere!

Thanks!

Yeah, some are failing for me too. Just google Gerald Brom. You'll be awash in glorious sci-fi cheesiness!

If anyone has made FLCs of ANY of these Brom images, I'd LOVE to have them. :D
