Li Halan only gets that vote if they have "a friend in church". We could just change it to: no offices are to be assigned during the first term. (thus automatically making two players lose due to the huge delay they'll suffer)

Also it's OK to decrease unit pay. Just not increase it beyaond the initial amount. (otherwise units never retreat and officers are useless).

Is this set-up better then?

1) Lord Austere = Al Malik
2) Mjolnir420 = Hazat
3) Ben = Decados
4) aries8887 = Hawkwood
5) Kyrdian = Li Halan

(I believe Hazat and decados are after another right...? Have not the game at hand to check, doing from memory)

no offices to be assigned is a good idea, and yes Hazat and Decados are right after one another so all looks well (cept Mjolnir420=Decados, Ben=Hazat)

When do we play? lol

Well I suggest that the Li Halan player sets up the game. He said he'd be back august 12th. So the simplest would be to all send an email to me: ttijnn@hotmail.com and I'll email these to everyone. After this we just play our turns and email it on to the next player in the turn sequence.

Also another usefull rule to consider. There is no real espionage option in the game so it's probably fair to make any aliance public (using in game diplomacy). The terms may be hidden however(agreed via messenges or email). I know this makes subterfuge a bit more difficult, but with lack of good espionage it's a good trade off probably.

so this is it then:

1) Lord Austere = Al Malik
2) Mjolnir420 = Decados
3) Ben = Hazat
4) aries8887 = Hawkwood
5) Kyrdian = Li Halan

Let's wait for Kyrian and then let the games commence.

i agree that diplomacy should have to be public, or at least any that involves sceptres (votes)...

perhaps we should also share our passwords so in case we lose a player we can recruit a new one (or at least skip his turns). We could do this safely by giving it out to one other player, posibly the person that goes second after us (thus preventing spying).

It's Kyrdian here, now I'm back from holidays. I hope we could start now.

One more thing about password sharing: generally good idea, to prevent spying person before and directly after you can't know your password.

Right, well it's up for you to start the game as Li Halan and email it on to the next player. For sake of ease email me (ttijnn@hotmail.com) and I'll send out the your email to the others (the one shown above for Kyrdain doesn't work). This goes for the others too whom have not yet been emailed by me. I'll collect them and share with all via email thus allowing us to start the game.

ehm Kyrdian, your email seems not to work. It keeps sending back this:

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.

Delivery to the following recipients failed.

I'll place the email on here too as a copy (without the email adresses):

Hi all,

@Kyrdian: You made one slight error. We agreed on 6 points of positive house traits using the balancing house traits option. This can be done by setting the difficulty to easy for all (just deselect those you don't use, the game does not mind it).

http://website.lineone.net/~rwein/nova/traits.htm

We have to openly share what traits we select. Just state on the forums or something.

Otherwise here are the email adresses for the other players and the person to tell passwords too:

Li Halan = Kyrdian = <noemailshown> => Shows password to Ben (decados) via ingame message
Hazat = Mjolnir420 = <noemailshown>=> Shows password to Aries(Hawkwood)
Decados = Ben = Mjolnir's roomate => Shows password to me (al Malik)
Hawkwood = aries8887 = <noemailshown> => shows password to Kyrdian (Li Halan)
Al Malik = Lord Austere = ttijnn@hotmail.com => Shows password to Mjolnir420 (Hazat)

The idea is that you send an email to the next player on this list with the PBEM included. Diplomacy can be conducted via email or ingame PM, hence it's wise if we have Ben's email as email diplomacy is considerably easier. Treaties involving scepters or alience (including tech aliences) need to be made public due to lack on espionage in the game.

You have 1 day to send it on (unless you have a good reason ofcourse, but try and warn people beforehand.

Greetings from Lord Austere
