The Church, obviously, mirrors the politically potent Roman Catholic Church of the Middle Ages.
The Vau, it seems, is based on the Europeans’ views of the Chinese in that same period.
I guess it’s possible to classify the different Houses, but I think they’re more like archetypes than actual European nations of that time. After all, weren’t all of those nobles deceptive and evil at one time?
There’s most definitely a way to match the orders to historical monastic orders.
I don’t know who the Kurgan Caliphates are, or if they really are neo-Muslims at all. I’d appreciate an explanation.
