I do want to go on record as stating that I did not violate our non-agression pact.

House Hawkwood has not fired a shoot against House Al Malik.

Duke Maurice of Al-Malik released yesterday a shocking
announcement, in which he unveiled his nazi agenda in
the most pervert and brutal way:

"(...) onslaught by (...) Al-Malik family (...)
brought nothing but misery on people of
Al-Malik, (...) Church and other Royal Houses."

Someone could think that Maurice eventually came to
his senses and confessed all the atrocities he had
committed. Unfortunately, all that he would like to
admit is that his actions hadn't combatted
"(...)law (...) liberty, equality and
rationality, values of (...) Human (...) Empire" as
effectively as he wanted, so he is resorting to the
help of Symbiots.

"(...)we declare (...) worlds of Stigmata, Istakhr,
Shaprut, Bannockburn, Nowhere, Absolution and Aylon,
with its Capital on Stigmata(...) shall be ruled by
Symbiot (...)"

In case this wouldn't be enough in the planned Final
Solution, he "wishes to maintain friendly ties to
(...) League of th(...)u(...)g(...)s".

Apparently Maurice developed a mental disease,
hitherto hidden although suspected by his former
allies, Li-Halan and Decados. His schizophrenia is so
big that in the announcement he added without
embarassment:
"I (...) slaught(...)er(...)e(...)d
(...)k(...)e(...)nne(...)d(...)y (...)."

Do we still need more proofs? When this madness will
end?

Strangely, i don't seem to find Kirov latest works that funny. I wonder why :D

Ah, about that NA pact we had. Well, technically you have not broken it (by declaring war i mean), but first, allowing my enemies fleet to enter your territory, second, trying to convince me they are going to attack elsewhere (which wasn't the truth), and last and most importantly, arriving along with Alliance fleet over my planet, can be perceived as act of agression, couldn't it?

Now, about the latest turn, 5013.

The allies, as expected, retreated from Bannocbkurn, after dropping some land forces and grabbing many cities. In the process Li Halans lost a cruiser to my PTS fire, and i lost one PTS cannon and bunch of patriots/militias. Ah, and a lot of strat bombers to Church attack. Nedless to say, that quite large Church fleet over Bannockburn is no more. Also, in my counterattack all but two cities were recaptured, and bunch of Hawkwood units on the ground were destroyed (i doubt there are any enemy units left on Bannockburn).

Apart from that, stalemate on Aylon, Stigmata garrison dying off (it lost its 4 remaining Power Legions and another bunch of cities). Ah, and i would forgot, my fleet jumped to Gwynneth, and is awaiting Allied reaction (that one damaged Decados Dreadnought that escaped from Bannockburn plus another one that must have arrived there were destroyed by Prophet Torpedo Bombers, but fleets of other players are still there, and it seems that Hawkwood one is even bigger than it was on Bannockburn).

News from the front!

Year 5014

In the north, the Empire retreated from Gwynneth to Criticorum with bulk of its forces.

Instead, Empire shipped in more forces (Li Halan and Decados units) to Aylon, supposedly to break the stalemate there. Ground forces already present on Aylon and reinforcements (including Symbiot Li Halan units*) made few succesful attacks here and there.

Note that Aylon is mainly agricultural/harvesting planet, and its processing industry consumes maybe 70 energy. This is reflected by the fact both sides sent only a marginal forces there.

The Republic military finished recapturing remaining 4-5 cities on Bannockburn, succesfully raided several Imperial (Hawkwood) installations on Gwynneth (capturing Palace in the process and seizing about 500 units of trace and 300 metal). Orbital bombardment was also conducted, but the Republican Fleet jumped en masse to Criticorum, where Prophet Torpedo Bombers wing conducted a strike against 3 unguarded and partially loaded Imperial Eye Assault Landers, destroying them in the engagement. Currently, both Imperial (mostly Li Halan with medium Hazat and small Hawkwood components) and Republican fleets are waiting inside Criticorum solar system.

Other fronts:
- On Stigmata, Stigmatian Garrison noble was forced to surrender and join Republican cause. Also, few airstrikes were conducted to clear the planet of remnants of Imperial forces. Only 4 Imperial cities remain.
- Over Aylon, Republican Stealthships engaged Imperial (Fleet) freighter escorted by Space Marauder and destroyed them. On the surface of the planet, Republican partisans made few succesful counterattacks.

*Li Halan House seems to have a habit of using Symbiot units. How faithful and orthodox of them...

Symbiots! Ha! This is ridiculous! You pitious soldiers must have seen my travelling orangery, where a very rare plant, pandemonicus reaverus simmilarus is shown to entertain and educate masses. It so happens that this plant looks exactly like a symbiot reaver, but is of course (as plants usually are) completely harmless and one has to be Al-malik to hastily escape (excuse me, carefully conduct a tactical withdrawal) at the sight of it.

Oh, I'd forget, I dispatched a shipment containing four so called "Rampart sparrows", which look exactly like strategical bombers but are only, of course, completely tame and wonderful to watch species of bird...

And news from the front:

Aylon Salvation Army is still busy releasing common people from Al-malik oppression. Exhausted but proud troops ("they fight also for YOU!") would like to thank people from all over the Known worlds for their letters of support. To reply a common theme from those letters - unfortunately, I can't be a godfather of every infant named "kirov".

The Great Armada of Li-Halan stationing on Criticorum has successfully conducted an operation codenamed "Nightshadow", which means it has tactically withdrawn God knows where. Li-Halan's maneuvrability proved,as always, exemplary.

hopefully there will be some graphics there in time)

The Stigmata Times, 31st December 5015.

News from the front!

The Empire retreated from Criticorum to /censored/ location, leaving the planet, currently owned by Li Halan and still underdeveloped, on the mercy of Republican Combined Fleet.

Commander-in-Chief of Republican military, Maurice Al-Malik decided that:
- Pursuit of Imperial Fleet would provide no benefits.
- Jumping to Kish, Pyre, or Cadavus would leave flank open for Imperial counterattack. Even though attacking Kish would cause huge losses on Imperial industry.
- There are not enough* ground forces available for invasion of Criticorum.

Thus, the decision was made to blockade Criticorum to soften its defenses and prepare for Republican takeover. Heavy Republican warships entered the orbit and started bombardment of agricultural installations on the surface of the planet, while two Battle Tanks divisions (onboard Invasion Landers) made succesful assaults on particularly valuable Imperial Food reserves. It is estimated that Criticorum food production is down to 6, while consumption should be 50 times larger.

Meanwhile, on Aylon, Imperial forces mounted many succesful attacks. In many places, brave Republican partisans, after tough fights were forced to retreat after taking many losses. This was mainly due to serious reinforcements Empire sent to Aylon. Numerous (at least 5?) transport spaceships, and DNA legions from Houses Li Halan and Decados were reported.

In turn, Republic decided its high time to assist valorous partisans of Aylon, who fought against the Imperial onlsaught for such long time. Minor space Task Force consisting was prepared and sent to Aylon. Meanwhile, Republican Stealthships and Torpedo Bombers attacked unescorted Imperial Freighters (with cargo) over Aylon, destroying them.
On the ground, Aylon partisans executed surprise operation, recapturing the capital. The population anxiously awaits reestablishment of civil Republican authority over Aylon.

On other fronts, there were no important events. Another few Imperial cities on Stigmata were captured, only one remains. Also, the Imperial Fort on Istakhr was succesfully assaulted, and Imperial Eye Agency Resident was captured and interrogated, revealing important information. (for example, the presence of another Imperial Spy in countryside, belonging to House Decados).
Also, a small military expedition to Absolution was undertaken. The goal is to gradually clear the islands of Symbiots.

In other news:

There is rising strife among branches of Republican military. According to latest data, this year the Space Fleet consumed roughly 88 percent of Republican industrial output, while the Army and Local Defense Forces used 6 percent each. Discontent is especially high in Air Force establishment, which received no new funds this year.
We remind that Air Force has been the primary arm of Al Malik military, and it sustained especially large losses during the first part of War of Independence. Those losses were never fully replaced, while other branches - even Army - experienced large increase in size.

Thank you very much, Tiberius, but Maur made several mistakes in this report. "Honorable Al-malik"? What's that? And our kids are supposed to learn on this? I'm not goind to write a single sentence until these descriptions are changed. Howgh!

Tomasz, shame on you...

Well, that was my insider joke i was actually quite surprised Tiberius took it seriously :D

If you want, ask him to change it. After all, that mail in which i included description was also sent to all players.

Too bad i didn't asked to name the game "the rise of house al Malik" or "the fall of the Empire" or something like that :D

By the way, how are food prices in Criticorum cities lately? Rising, perhaps? ;)

Game reports pages updated!

Haven't had a chance to read everything yet but looks like a fun game! Once I have some time to review everything I'll see about correcting for minor gramatical errors. :D

Great posts guys! Perhaps a bit long on some.
A few succinct paragraphs usually will do the trick. Opposing points of view are always good too so see if the others will get into the act a bit.

Church forces have positioned Fleets over the two key Hawkwood worlds. Church ground forces have been confussed by a shifting maze of militia that are preventing the caprue of labs. It is working for now but the likelihood of an spotted unit being accidentally attacked is rising each turn.

Well,we'll need lot of narrator's speech later to make the game report bit clear for outside people..i know i didnt understand to depth almost any report i read.

I dont think i really want to participate,as a weak empire i cant reveal a thing without immidiately threatening myself.I could add some thing's on the outdated parts though..if tiberius can put them in..

Lets face it,one sided report's arent that much fun.I think what lot of people are looking for in report's,and mostly finding in small number's,are examples of actual gameplay - war tactic's,real diplomacy(by which i mean wording that leads to mutual agreement's for example)..hell,even planet buildup strategies..the EFS games take so long that only long time player's have inside scope into such thing's.We can,of course, later reveal all the mail that's going through, but will it really be fun to read?iam half asleep when reading it :)

btw..Al-Malik in a stroke of insight realized that Decados were about to switch sides, and realized their only chance is first surprise strike.

*scratches head* i guess i really helped the insight by telling you that iam going to do it? :)
painting pleasant picture for audience are we? :)

Well, now you mentioned it, I also had my doubts if this stuff is really interesting enough to publish it... Beforehand I considered it only as some undemanding fun between me and Tomasz. But if Tiberius finds it OK...

Besides, the old stuff I made was wrote only because I needed some practice in writing, in order to pass CAE (hence the form of letters, reports and so on). :p I'm not extremely proud of what is written there.

EDIT: and how it is written like.

Oh yeah i meant the second part, which start's by about 5013..i didnt really read the first part, generally the "staff" meeting's make me sleep..

Anyway if its just-for-fun fluff report then nevermind me..i just know that in devolution report, which is about 5 pages long,i remember mostly the part's how,for example, one guy luckily took 16 starbases with marauder drop..that made me excited, while all the diplomacy felt more like bunch of kidos arguing over who's bucket is it after 20th message..
(no offense devolution guys :) )
